Teachers, staff, and parents:
In compliance with the Governor’s request to close public schools in response to COVID 19, the Middlesboro Independent Schools will be closed through April 12. We will reopen on April 13. According to Governor Beshear, schools currently utilizing NTI days will likely receive additional NTI days in order to allow students to continue learning while districts take proactive steps during the public health crisis. Student safety and care are of the utmost importance to us all and will always drive our decisions. To insure our students continue to receive meals, we are preparing to serve breakfast and lunch at off-site locations, similar to our summer feeding program. Upon approval of the days, we will follow the schedule below.
Week One:
March 16: NTI Day #6
March 17: NTI Day #7: All faculty and staff must report to work at 9:00 a.m. to prepare NTI packets 11-15.
March 18: NTI Day #8
March 19: NTI Day #9
March 20: Professional Development at MMS Library for those needing PD hours. Contact Tony Maxwell to register.
Week Two:
March 23: NTI Day #10
March 24: G Day: All faculty and staff must report to work at 9:00 a.m. to prepare NTI packets 16-20.
March 25: NTI Day #11
March 26: NTI Day #12
March 27: NTI Day #13
Week Three:
March 30: NTI Day #14
March 31: G Day: All faculty and staff must report to work at 9:00 a.m.
April 1: NTI Day #15
April 2: NTI Day #16
April 3: NTI Day #17
April 4-April 12: Spring Break
During all NTI days, teachers will be available during school hours to assist students with work and answer questions. If you have questions regarding times and locations for meals, please contact our Food Services Director, Sandy Ramsey at 242-8800.
